BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1899 Death of Louis Beal Louis Beal died at home on South Mill Street, Salem, Friday night at 9:20 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks, aged 67 (70) years. Mr. Beal was born in England and came to this county when a young man, locating in Louisville. Later he went to Bedford for several years he was prominently identified with the stone quarry interests of that place. About 1878 he moved to Salem and for a number of years thereafter was Superintendent of the Salem stone quarries. Five or six years ago he retired from active work. Mr. Beal was of kindly disposition and much respected by his circle of friends who will mourn his death. He leaves a wife and three sons, W. A., of Salem; Art W. and Brice, the latter two employed in railroad work. The funeral services have not been made at the time of going to press -- Salem Toplight. The funeral services of Louis Beal were held at the family residence on South Mill street, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Matthews of the Baptist Church, after which the remains were laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Beal was 70 years of age, instead of 67 as was stated in Saturday's issue of this paper -- Salem Daily Toplight Mr. And Mrs. Henry Reath returned Tuesday from Salem where they had been to attend the funeral of Louis Beal.
