Submitted by Cathy Beard beardc@indiana.edu<mailto:beardc@indiana.edu> BALDWIN, Anna (July 27, 1886 - March 1936) Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Haverly Mortuary for Miss Anna Baldwin, 49, who died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday in New Castle where she had been taken seven years ago to an epileptic hospital. The direct cause of her death was chronic myocardis. The services were in charge of the Rev. W. A. Sanders and burial was made in the Freedom Cemetery, located on State Road 37, south of here. The remains were returned here late Sunday night and remained at the mortuary until the funeral party left for the cemetery. The deceased was born in Indiana on July 27th, 1886, to Eli and Martha Baldwin and lived in and near here during the early part of her life. She is survived by seven sisters – Mrs. Fannie Wood, Mrs. Mary Tincher, Mitchell; Mrs. Velvia Chambers, Mrs. Lovia Chastain, of Bedford; Mrs. Manda Hill, Shelbyville, Ill.; Mrs. Laura White, Herrick, Ill.; and Mrs. Vada Chisham, of Orleans; and three brothers, Posey and Willie Baldwin, of Mitchell, and James Baldwin, living near Bedford.
