DAILY TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA THURSDAY, MARCH 21, 1951 Andrew Shirley Succumbs At 65 Andrew Shirley, former railroader and native of Lawrence county, died at 9:45 p.m. yesterday at the Dunn Memorial Hospital less then eight hours after his admission. He had been ill for about one week. Mr. Shirley was born on February 26, 1886, made his home with his nephew, Calvin Shirley, of R. R. 5, Bedford. He was the son of Thomas and Nancy Adalaine Speer Shirley, and was never married. Surviving are one brother, John Shirley, R. R. 6, Bedford, and several nephews and nieces. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Easter Sunday at the Buddha Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Kern and Rev. Thomas Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Crawford Cemetery. The body will be removed to the home of the nephew on Route 5 tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock to lie in state until the funeral hour. Day and Carter Mortuary are directing the arrangements.
