    3. BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, FEB. 22, 1901 Rosa, six year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Mitchell, of near Pinhook, died Saturday night, of diphtheria, and was buried Sunday afternoon, at Pinhook. ******** FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 1901 OBITUARY. Rosa Evalue Mitchell, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Mitchell, born Feb. 8, 1895, died Feb. 19, 1900 (1901), age 6 years and 9 days. Little Evalue was a child of unusual brightness, and her death has cast a gloom over her parent's heart that is hard to drive away, but they sorrow not as those who have no hope, for they know their little darling has only gone to meet her Maker and that today she is among the numberless angels, singing the praises of our dear Saviour, for it was he who said "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of heaven." The little darling suffered untold agonies having died with the dreaded diphtheria, but when her summons came she simply slept. Thus one more little heart has ceased to beat, one more little voice is hushed and there is a little vacant chair that can never more be filled. We miss our little Evalue, We miss her from the place, A shadow o'er our lives is cast, We miss thy darling face. Yes, dear parents, it is true Evalue is gone, but for her you need not weep. She was a precious little flower, but God needed her for His garden, and it was the Angel of death that visited the green earth, and took the little flower away. The home is dark and lonely without her, but our loss is her gain. Then let us so live, that when the summons from above comes to us, we may lay down our life's armor, and exchange it for a white robe and shining crown, and with Evalue, forever sing the praises of our Lord. List! Papa, List! Mamma, A harp to me is given, It is not heard on earth, But heard all over heaven. NOTE: Rosie Mitchell: 8 Feb 1895 – 17 Feb. 1901. Daughter of J. L. & S. E. Burial at Pinhook Cemetery, Guthrie Twp.
