    3. BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, FEB. 15, 1901 OBITUARY. Death has again broken the family circle taking the father, Wm. E. Hendricks. He was born near Heltonville, Ind., Feb. 15th, 1852. His father, Wm. Hendricks, died when our subject was about five years old. Mrs. Hendricks, his mother, was twice married. She is now a widow lady of near three score and ten. Bro. Hendricks died Feb. 4th, 1901, aged 48 years, 11 months and 20 days. On April 14th, 1870 Miss Ursula Faubian became his wife. To this union were born nine children. Seven of whom are living. He was converted to Christ and united with the Christian church at Bartlettsville, at the age of eighteen. His was not a mere profession, but a living reality. He was a disciple of Christ and the fruit of the spirit was manifest in his every day walk. At the last election he was elected Trustee of Pleasant Run township and had already entered upon the duties of his office. Mr. Hendricks was by trade a carpenter, and there are many good barns and dwellings in the county which he built. When the summons came for him to leave this world he was ready. His house was in order. It was hard to give him up, just at the noon hour of life, but "God knows best." Many good friends and neighbors bear testimony to his real worth, as citizen, as neighbor and brother. The funeral was largely attended at the family residence conducted by the writer. He leaves a sorrowing family, a widowed mother, sister and the whole community to mourn. The remains were buried at Pleasant Run cemetery. "Let us be patient the severer afflictions Not from the ground arise; But oft times celestial benedictions Assume this dark disguise." J. W.
