BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, DEC. 14, 1900 TRIED TO THAW DYNAMITE Orleans, Ind., Dec. 11. Henry Moore, a young man engaged in building a new road four miles south of Orleans, was blown to pieces this morning while trying to thaw dynamite to use in blasting. ***** Henry Moore, age twenty-two, employed by Throop & Lindley, gravel road contractors, at a stone quarry about six miles south of this place, who was instantly killed by an explosion about 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, had put about forty-five pounds of dynamite around a fire to thaw out. He saw that it had become pretty warm and ranked some of it away from the fire. He picked up four or five sticks and attempted to throw it away. They exploded in his hands literally blowing him to pieces. A part of one arm and one leg has not yet been found. Moore has relatives near Williams, in this county.
