THE BEDFORD DAILY TIMES BEDFORD INDIANA WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10, 1935 JOHN RITCHISON DIES SUDDENLY Funeral Services Arranged For 2 O'Clock Friday Afternoon At Home Of Daughter John Ritchison, 71 years old, died suddenly at 8 o'clock Tuesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Dalton, at 632 W Street, presumably from a heart attack. He collapsed after being stricken on the back porch of the Dalton home and died before Medical aid could be summoned. Coroner Dr. Roland E. Wynne, called to investigate his death, has not yet rendered this verdict. The body was removed to the Roach mortuary for burial preparation and this morning was returned to the Dalton home to lie in state until the funeral, arranged for 2 o'clock there Friday afternoon, with Rev. Otto Duncan, pastor of the Englewood Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Christian Cemetery in Springville. Mr. Ritchison was a native of Jamestown, Va., and was born March 14, 1864. He had been a resident of Bedford for the past twenty years. He was formerly employed as a quarry worker. Besides the daughter, he is survived by three sons, Clinton, Edward and Charles all of Bedford; and eight grandchildren. His wife, Mrs. Florence Ritchison died April 12, 1934 and he has since made his home with his daughter and her family.
