    3. BEDFORD WEEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, FEB. 22, 1901 OBITUARY. Minerva E. Wright was born Nov. 19, 1852; died Feb. 14, 1901, and was 48 years, 2 months and 25 days old at her death. She was united in marriage with Joseph McBrayer, Dec. 13, 1876. To this union were born five children, three of whom survive. James received fatal injuries, from which he died ten years ago, and little Celia May had the misfortune to be burned to death, which occurred about two months ago. "I think I should morn o'er my sorrowful fate. If sorrow in Heaven can be; That no one should be at that beautiful gate Both waiting and watching for me." So in this case, there was some one waiting at the "Gate of Pearl." At the age of 16 our subject united with the Baptist church, and was baptized in the old Cane Creek church at Fairview, North Carolina, and continued to live in the faith of that church until called to the church triumphant. Mr. and Mrs. McBrayer were natives of North Carolina, and her death occurred just 13 years from the day they left their home in North Carolina. Mrs. McBrayer was a very modest, unassuming lady. For many weeks she lay on her bed reading her Bible, and trying to impart its blessed truth to her family. Hers was not simply a belief in Him, but her spirit was sustained by His grace, and preserved by His power. In view of the great blessings of the Gospel, to God's people, the believer in Christ can sing: "Since from Thy bounty I've received such proofs of love divine. Had I a thousand hearts to give Lord, they should be Thine." "They shall rest from their labor," certainly means fullness of life and of joy unspeakable, and such must be the state of your blessed dead. Husband and children watch and pray, be ye ready as she was ready. The funeral services were held at the family residence and burial in the Ikerd cemetery. She leaves a husband, three children, five brothers and two sisters to mourn her loss. J. W. *************** A CARD OF THANKS. We desire to thank our friends and neighbors for their loving kindness during the sickness and death of our wife and mother. JOS. McBRAYER AND CHILDREN.
