TIMES MAIL, BEDFORD, INDIANA THURSDAY, JUNE 2, 1983 Martin Richard DeFore, 69, R. 1, Springville, died Wednesday in Clay County Hospital at Brazil, Ind. He had been ill several years. He was born Aug. 8, 1913 in Owen County (Coal City), to Frank and Ethel May Blacketter DeFore. He married Cora H. Hert on Dec. 24, 1940, and she preceded him in death Aug. 14, 1979. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Standards. He was a member of the Masonic Green Lodge 577; Washington, Ind., Scottish Rite Temple, Washington, D.C., the Albert Pike Consistory, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving is one brother. John DeFore, Brazil, Ind. Services will be at 10:30 am. Friday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, the Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial will be in Springville Christian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
