TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA TUESDAY, MARCH 30, 1993 John David Schmidt Sr., 74, 1025 R St., Bedford, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Bedford Medical Center. Born in Lawrence County, he was the son of Carl and Blanche (Kendall) Schmidt. He was retired from Bedford Medical Center maintenance department, and was of Protestant faith. Survivors include his former wife, Betty J. Gambrell; one daughter, Mrs. Greg (Nancy) Ashley of Bedford four sons: John David Schmidt of Tampa, Fla., Daniel Carl Schmidt and Joseph Blame Schmidt, both of Bedford, and Winston Dean Schmidt of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and close friend, Wanda J. Knight of Mitchell. He was preceded in death by one grandson. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with the Revs. Lewis Williams and Ralph Turner officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 am. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.
