DAILY TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA TUESDAY, JULY 7, 1959 ALEX FENDER RITES HELD Final rites were held at 10:30 a.m. today at Greene and Harrell Funeral Home in Bloomington for Alex Fender, 81-year-old Bloomington resident who passed away Friday (July 3) at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford. Mr. Fender, a retired quarryman, was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God at Mitchell and the Quarryworkers Union. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Mrs. Truly Sowders of Bedford; four sons – Schyler Fender, Bloomington, R. R. 3, George and jasper Fender, both of Bloomington, and Charles Fender of Heltonville; a brother, James Fender, Hollywood, Fla., 21 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Rev. Morton Thomas and Rev. David Miller will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery.
