TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA JULY 28, 1981 James Leonard Martin, 84, of Owensburg, Ind., died at 10 a.m. Monday at Bedford Medical Center where he entered July 25. Born April 10, 1897, in Jackson County, he was the son of John W. and Almeda Reynolds Martin. He was married to Stella Marie Flynn Cassidy Jan, 14, 1927 and she died June 18,1972. Surviving are one son, James Edward Martin of Bloomington; two daughters, Mrs. Ervin (Betty) Turner and Mrs. Harold (Juanita) Johnson, both of Bedford; two stepsons, Howard Cassidy of Bloomington and Lloyd Cassidy, Marion and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Dorothy) Wright of Bloomington and Mrs. Pauline Jerrells of Bedford; five grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several step- grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. Also, one sister, Mrs. Ida Hazel of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. He was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Church of Springville Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev, Chester Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grave Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 6 p.m. today. Casket bearers will be grandsons, Jimmy Martin, Jack Turner, Dennis Turner, Hart Cassidy, Steve Johnson, and nephew, James L. Martin.
