TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA JUNE 28, 1982 Henry (Hank) Melvin, 66, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Mitchell, died at 10:02 p.m. Saturday at the E. B. Crowe Community Hospital, Bedford He was born Jan. 18, 1916, in Martin County, to Earl and Mary Hopkins Melvin. He was first married to June White, and in 1964 was married to Grace Collier Bales, who survives He was a retired barber and a member of the First Christian Church in Mitchell. Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Mary) Albertson, R. 3, Orleans, and Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Hobson, Noblesville; one stepson, Nelson Bales, Mitchell; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Leonard (Sue) Slaven, Mitchell; one brother, William Melvin, Indianapolis; two sisters, Virginia Allen, Bedford, and Martha Murillo, Long Beach, Cal., six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chastain Funeral Home in Mitchell with the Rev. Howard Wardrip officiating. Burial will be in the Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. Casketbearers will be Troy Albertson, Mike Bales, Jeff Hobson, Robert Hobson, Timothy Hobson, Scott Slaven.
