TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA AUGUST 1, 1983 Ruth B. Alexander, 78, R. 2, Paoli, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Orange County Hospital in Paoli. She was born in Evansville Jan. 23, 1905, to James Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Hardin Bristow. She married Carson Alexander Oct. 11, 1931 and he died May 20, 1983. She was a member of the Paoli United Methodist Church, Paoli Business and Professional Women's Club, Paoli Chapter 472, Order of Eastern Star, and a past guardian of Paoli Job's Daughters. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, West Baden Psi Iota Xi, Lick Creek Home Economics Club, and founded the Orange County Gold Teens in 1971. She was a member of the Orange County Mental Health Association, the Older Women's League, and the American Association of Retired Persons She retired in 1974 as music and Latin teacher at Paoli High School. Surviving are one daughter, Dr. Charlotte Alexander, New York, N. Y. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Paoli United Methodist Church, the Rev. Claude D. Wison Officiating. Burial will be in Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dillman-Ellis Funeral Home in Paoli after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and until 12 noon Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral time.
