    3. BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, OCT. 26, 1900 ASLEEP IN JESUS. William Thomas McAfee, born in Lawrence county, Indiana, Sept. 5th, 1836, died Oct. 5th, 1900. He left a wife, two brothers and one sister and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Mr. McAfee had been a member of the Methodist church for over 40 years, and was a devoted Christian. He was an honest and upright citizen. He was loved by all who knew him. We must not grieve for him For we know he is safe at home. He is free from the pain he so patiently bore And stands at the great white throne. The pearly gates of heaven And its streets of purest gold Have welcomed another sweet innocent lamb Into his great Shepherd's fold. I have lived for him and his sake only; Now my heart is broken and forlorn. All the house is darkened now and lonely, What is home with my dear husband gone? Death's grim angel by his fireside found him; O'er the stream of Jordan he has crossed; Dying, while the ones he loved around him Cried their hearts out for their loved and lost. O'er the quiet grave where he is sleeping, May God's angels, ever fair and true, Whisper as their vigils they are keeping. Still your loving wife remembers you. While in peace your happy soul reposes, While she thinks of you both day and night May her prayers fall on your grave like roses, Making all the way to heaven bright. WIFE.
