TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA MAY 20, 1983 William Russell Roach, 76, 1134 Lincoln Ave., Bedford. formerly of Cale, Ind., died at 5:50 a.m. Thursday at Dunn Memorial Hospital, where he entered May 10. He was born Feb. 15, 1907, in Hymeria, Ind., to William I. And Nora Gore Roach. He married Frances Duncan on Oct. 12, 1941 and she survives. A 1925 graduate of Bedford High School he formerly worked for the Indiana State Highway Department, later with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and was employed at Crane in that position with the Land Acquisition Dept. He retired in 1974 from the U.S. Navy at Crane. He was a member and former deacon of the First Christian Church. Surviving with the wife are one daughter. Mrs. Thomas J. Lahey, San Francisco. Calif.; two granddaughters, and one brother, Ben Roach, Bedford. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther and Merlin Roach. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary, the Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and from 9 am. Saturday until the service hour. The casket will not be open at any time.
