DAILY TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8, 1950 Mark Giles Dies Very Early Today. Mark Giles passed away this morning at 2 a.m. at his residence, 1027 Q street, after a brief illness. He was born March 28, 1886 at Springville to Mack and Minnie Davis Giles. He married Goldie Holmes, who preceded him in death in 1919. Later, he married Margaret Meyers Bowden on March 5, 1922. The former machinist was a member of the Gullet's Creek Baptist Church at Needmore and belonged to the Machinist's Union, Local 599. Survivors are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Owens, Jr., Bedford; one son, Paul Giles, Bedford; one stepson, Lester Bowden, Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Dennis Blackburn and Mrs. Elmer H. Johnson, both of Bedford; one grandson, Jimmie Owens, and several nieces and nephews. ., Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Sherwood & Ferguson Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Miller officiating. Interment will be at the Springville Christian Cemetery. The body was removed to the funeral home for burial preparation and will lie in state there after 6 p. m. today. Sherwood & Ferguson are in charge of arrangements.
