ALBANS, W.Va. - Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday for Joseph Lee Strange, 73, of St. Albans, W.Va., formerly of Paoli, who died at 4:23 p.m. Thursday, in Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, W.Va. Burial was in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, W.Va., with the Rev. Randy Camp officiating. Born in Charleston, W.Va., he was the son of Herschel "Pete" and Florence (Peyton) Strange of Paoli. He married Ethel Mae Bays, and she survives. He was a retired mechanic for Kroger Co., a member of Teamster Local 175, and a WWII Army veteran. A 34-year resident of St. Albans; he was raised and attended school in Paoli. Surviving with the wife are two daughters: Mrs. Mary Catherine Shank and Mrs. Vicky Casdorph, both of St. Albans, W.Va.; one son, George Lee Strange of Gray, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Gribbins of Paoli; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles Arthur Strange, and one grandson. Arrangements were in charge of Casdorph and Curry Funeral Home, in St. Albans, W.Va.
