TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA MONDAY, JULY 9, 1984 Thelma East, 81, 632 Fifteenth died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Dunn Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 4,1902 in Paducah, Ky., to Richmond and Marcella Mayfield. She married James East Aug. 31, 1921 in Oneida, Tenn., and he preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1962. She attended St. John the Baptist Priory OSJ in Louisville, Ky. Surviving are five Sons: Frank, Carl, Cecil and Terry East, all of Bedford, and James East, Martinsville; four daughters: Mrs. Jim (Sally) Ollis, Orleans, Mrs. Jim (Opal Lee) Beltran, Sacramento, Calif., Ruby and Carolyn East, both of Bedford; 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; three brothers: Edgar Mayfield, New Castle, Evan Mayfield, Hains City, Fla., and Johnny Mayfield, Somerset, Ky. She was preceded in death by a son, Rufus, a daughter, Etta J., a sister, Ruby Flynn, and three brothers: Earl, Ernest and Billy Mayfield. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Fr. James Wathen officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
