    3. TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA WED., SEPT. 5, 1979 GEORGE W. DYE George W. Dye, 74, R. 3, Shoals, died at 8:50 p.m. Monday at the Bedford Medical Center after an illness of several years. Born Jan. 12, 1905, in Martin County to Oscar A. and Elizabeth Emmeline Mitchell Dye, he married Ruth Williams Oct. 20, 1931, and she survives. Also surviving are one son, Bart Dye, R. 3, Shoals; three brothers, Richard H. Dye, Indianapolis; Wilson Dye, Washington, Ind.; Alvin Dye, Rockville, Ind.; two grandchildren. He was a member of the Shoals United Methodist Church, in which he was a Sunday school teacher. He was a former Republican state senator, having service in the 1960's. Mr. Dye was a past master of the Shoals Lodge No. 332, F. & A.M., a member of the Red Cross of __nstantine, York Rite Chapter of Bedford; and he held the 33rd degree in Scottish Rite, Indianapolis Valley. He was a past grand patron of the Shoals Eastern Star, No. 368. He was past grand patron and past grand trustee of the Indiana Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. He was the first secretary of the Davis and Martin County REMC, past president of the Martin County Farm Bureau, and past president of the Shoals PTA. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Shoals United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glen Youngblood and the Rev. Sam Ohanian officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home, Shoals, after 3:30 p.m. today. The Eastern Star will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. today, and there will be a Masonic service at the cemetery.
