DAILY TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA TUESDAY, JAN. 17, 1961 McARTHUR RITES SET Leonard S. McArthur, 69, passed away at 2:00 p.m. Monday at his home in Heltonville. Death followed a lengthy illness. A retired stone carver, Mr. McArthur was born August 12, 181 in Georgia the son of Rufus and Angeline McArthur. He was united in marriage to Neva Pasco, who survives. Other survivors include one son, Gordon with the US Air Force in Spain; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Ruth Cutler of Nebraska, Mrs. Louise Lively of Route 1, Heltonville, Mrs. Bessie Mae Moore of Center Point, Indiana and Pearl Marie McArthur of Quincy, Indiana; three brothers, Robert, B. J., and Farris; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Honey and 12 grandchildren. Mr. McArthur was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Decatur, Ga., and was a veteran of WW I. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville with the Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial will take place in the Gilgal Cemetery under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Jones Funeral Home after noon Wednesday. ******************************** McARTHUR RITES ARE CONDUCTED Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville for Leonard S. McArthur who died last Monday at his home on Heltonville R. R. 1. Rev. David Miller of Oolitic officiated. "I Won't Have To Cross Jordan Alone," "Beyond The Sunset" and "The End of The Way" were sung by Claudette Jackson and Janet Amy, with Sara Lou Norman at the piano. Flowers were in charge of Willabelle Hunter, Bernice Sowders, Grace Vanest, Lucy Kinser, Hilda Kinser, Mary Bundy, Carried Eads, Beulah Hawkins, Mildred Turpen, Truly Sowders, Alice Keller and Dorothy Lively. Pall bearers were Stuart Moore, George Lively, Roy Cutler, Linval Sowders, Harold Eads and Taylor Wininger. Burial was in Gilgal Cemetery north of Heltonville.
