TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA MARCH 7, 1984 Matilda Ruth Kidd, 55, R. 2. Springville, died at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday at the Bloomington Hospital. Where she entered Feb. 29. She had been ill four months. She was born May 31, 1928 in Lawrence County, to M.G. "Buck" and Charlotte Hall Houtchings. She marred Goldman "Captain" Kidd Feb. 23, 1946, and he survives. She retired from Crane Naval Weapons Support Center and worked at Sarkes Tarzian at Bloomington. She was a member of the Baptist Church and Rebekah Lodge, both of Oolitic. Surviving with the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kathy) Pennington, R. 2, Shoals. and Mrs. Vicki Silvers, R.1, Springville, five grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Houtchings, R. R., Bedford. And James Houtchings, Springville; three sisters, Mrs. Millard (Jean) New, Vine Grove. Ky., Mrs. Clayton (Edna) Sears, Bedford, and Mrs. Fred (Linda) Gray, Mitchell, and the mother of Mitchell. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Day & Carte Mortuary, the Rev. Richard Tallman and Bro. Curtis Southwood officiating. Burial will be in Springville Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. Friday until service time.
