TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA DECEMBER 15, 1983 John W. Lee, 57, Ft. l Springville, died suddenly at 10 p.m. yesterday at the residence. He was born in Lawrence County June 8, 1926 to George Jefferson and Delia B. Turner Lee. He married Mildred Parker Sept. 4, 1945, and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. (Marion Irma) Tincher, Avoca, Donnetta June Lee, Bedford, and Mrs. Stephen (Linda) Solmes, Butler; one son, John Lavern Lee, Springville; five grandchildren; one brother, Donnie Lee, Indiana, and two sisters, Mrs. Tom (Marie) Meadows, Bloomington, and Mrs. Mary Glover, Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Russ, Bill and George. He was of Pentecostal faith and a veteran of World War II, during which he received a Purple Heart. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary, the Rev. Jay Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery with graveside military rites by members of Gillen Post 33, American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today; from noon to 9 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday.
