TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA JULY 26, 1983 Harley Hobson. 64, Hamilton Cts., Bedford, died at 5:17 a.m. today at Dunn Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1919. in Lawrence County, to Alva and Ella Beavers Hobson. He first, married Mabel Jones on June 2, 1938, and she died June 6, 1959. He married Elizabeth Fleenor Hatfield on March 19,1971, and she survives. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a German prisoner of war. Survivors, include the mother of Bedford, his wife; three daughters. Carol Hobson and Mrs. Rosa Lee Crulo and Mrs. Sue Lawyer, both of Bedford; two sons, Kenneth and Larry Hobson, both of Texas; 10 grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Mrs. Wilma Jean Cheek, Fayetteville, and Mrs. Helen Key, Bedford; four sisters, Mrs. Harrell (Lois) Boling, Mrs. Claude (Mabel) Elkins, Mrs. Oral (Faye) Keller, and Mrs. Forrest (Katherine) Mathews, all of Bedford. A daughter Linda VanWinkle preceded him in death. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Day & Carter Mortuary, the Rev. Glenn Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Springville Methodist cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to service time. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by members of Gillen Post 33, American Legion.
