DAILY TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA WEDNESDAY, MAY 12, 1937 DEATH CLAIMS GEORGE GILES Succumbed Tuesday Night At Dunn Hospital From Complication From Broken Hip George (Bazz) Giles, 82, who sustained a broken hip three weeks ago and who has been suffering with complications since that time, passed away Tuesday night at 11:40 o'clock at the Dunn Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past three years. Following death the remains were removed to the Day and Carter Funeral Home for burial preparation and were later taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Etta Hennon of Oolitic, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. William J. Whaley of Bloomington officiating. Burial will be made in the Springville Christian cemetery. The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Mr. Giles, a channeler at the quarries, was born at Springville July 9, 1854, to John and Sarah Dixon Giles and at his passing was 82 years, 10 months and two days of age. He was married March 9, 1902 in Oolitic to Martha Helen Moore, who survives, He was a member of the Bloomington Christian Church. Besides the widow, he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Eunice McDonald of Leesville, Mrs. Anna Canfield, Mrs. Jennie Byers and Mrs. Etta Hennon all of Oolitic, and three brothers, Matt Giles of Bedford and Fred and Alonzo Giles of Bloomington.
