TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20, 1983 Miller Lee Scarlett, 76, R. 1, West Baden, died at 3:30 p.m. yesterday at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1907, in Orange County, to Asa and Fannie Brown Scarlett. On Nov 5, 1949, he married Ruby Pearson Roberts, and she died June 3, 1983. Survivors include one son, James Scarlett, R. 1, West Baden; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jack (Carol) Reynolds, R. 1, West Baden; Mrs. Orin (Rebecca) Howerton, French Lick; two brothers, George and Bill Scarlett, both of Oregon; one grandson; six step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild. He retired from teaching school after 42 years and had taught in Orangeville, Orleans, Cuzco, and other rural schools in Orange County. He was also an electrician and carpenter, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Bethel Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel Church, the Rev. Ananb Swarup, officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brosmer Drabing Funeral Home in French Lick after 6:30 p.m. today and until noon tomorrow when the body will be taken to the church.
