TIMES MAIL, BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1983 Fern Guthrie Hert, 78, 147 E. Sixteenth St., Bedford died at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for several years. She was born in Lawrence County Nov. 8, 1905, to Jacob and Edith Pender Guthrie. She married Ralph O. Hert Dec. 4, 1927, and he survives. She was previously employed for several years at Wells Shop, was a member of the First Christian Church in Bedford and the Bedford Chapter 129, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving with the husband are one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Rosalie) Chase, Bedford, six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one, sister, Mrs. Cloudy (Nina) Tyree, Bedford. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack, in 1974, a granddaughter, and a brother Clyde. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary, the Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial will be in Springville Christian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday until the funeral time.
