BEDFORD DAILY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1933 Joseph Marion Parker Succumbs At Popcorn Death Comes to Prominent Lawrence County Farmer After Illness of a Few Days Joseph Marion Parker, prominent farmer and leading citizen of the Popcorn neighborhood answered the final summons at his home today at 8 a.m. after a four days illness due to a bowel obstruction. The deceased was born Dec. 22, 186*, in this state to James D. and Jane Fitzpatrick Parker and was aged 66 years, 10 months, and 12 days at the time of his death. On Sept. 17, 1889 the deceased was united in marriage to Miss Lula Rainbolt who survives. One daughter, Mrs. Reugar Quackenbush of Springville, one brother, Henry Parker, of Springville; three sisters, Mrs. George Price, of Shelbyville, Ill., Mrs. Lettie Inman, of Mountain Springs, and Mrs. Ida Hudson of Hobbyville, also survive. Mr. Parker was a representative citizen and was imbued with a progressive spirit. The good of the community was always uppermost in his mind and he will be sadly missed by a wide circle. He possessed a fine tenor voice and was a member of the Popcorn Quartet , a favorite musical group of this county his death makes the first break in the ranks of this group which has existed for number of years. Mr. Parker was a member of the Christian Church at Popcorn and services will be held from this church Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Harry Bridwell in charge. Internment will take place in Lowder Cemetery
