DAILY TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1956 Former Local Man Dies Homer H Johnson, 64 year - old former Lawrence and Martin county resident, died Monday afternoon at the Veterans Hospital in Los Angeles, California where he had been a patient for several years. Mr. Johnson was born on a farm near Shoals on October 19, 1892, to Alex and Ritta Terry Johnson. And spent his early years around Shoals and in Bedford. He was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by two brothers Roy Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Austun Johnson of Indianapolis four sisters, Mrs. Wallace Sherfick, Mrs. Frank Badon, Mrs. Herschel Bennett, and Mrs. Roy Hull, all of Indianapolis: and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, many of whom reside in Lawrence county. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (CDT) at the First Church of God in Indianapolis. The body will be brought to the Jordan Funeral Home in Indianapolis Friday evening to lie in state until the hour of the funeral.
