BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, FEB. 28, 1902 Death Of Mrs. Mary L. Thomas Mrs. Mary L. Thomas, mother of Charles Thomas, died at the home of the latter at Trinity Sunday, aged 75 years. The funeral took place Monday p.m. Burial at Crawford graveyard. ******** The funeral of Mrs. Mary L. Thomas was held at Trinity M. E. church, east of the city, Monday, at 11 a.m., Pastor C. W. Chadwick, of the First Baptist church, preaching the sermon. Mrs. Thomas was born in Virginia. She was over 76 years old, and died from complications which arose as the result of a recent fall on the ice. Mrs. Thomas had been a member of the Baptist church about forty years, and was a faithful Christian. She leaves four children, three sons and one daughter, and also grandchildren and great-grandchildren. NOTE: Mary L. Thomas: 20 May 1826 – 28 Feb. 1902. Born near Heathville, VA. Burial at Crawford Cemetery, Shawswick Twp.
