BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, MAY 16, 1902 A tramp about 60 years of age was run down and instantly killed on a bridge, a short distance east of Willow Valley Sunday morning by east bound mail train No. 4. The body was left lying by the railroad in a horribly mangled condition until Coroner Treanor, of Martin county, arrived in the afternoon. The head was severed from the body. Prosecutor Gwin who investigated the case in the interest of the state had the remains buried in a small graveyard nearby.
