Bedford Daily Times Mail, Bedford, IN Tuesday October 2, 1951 Thomas White Succumbs Thomas B. White, age 77, a retired farmer of Route 1, Bedford, died at 10:15 p.m. Monday at the Methodist Hospital where he entered September 29. He had been ill for two weeks. Mr. White was born in Boone county, Indiana, on August 10, 1874, to Henry and Mary Ann Johns White. He was first married to Hester Crane, September 13,1895. She died on September 13, 1939. Epsie Smith became his wife on 1941. A member of the Fourteenth Street Pentecost Church, Mr. White is survived by his widow; four sons, Thomas I. of Bedford, James H. and Martin, both of Shelbyville and .Lewis of New Bethel; two daughters, Mrs. Sipes of Bedford, and Mrs. Fred Easton of Indianapolis; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren: three stepsons, Reed, Bert and Stanley Smith; and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruby Gaines. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Fourteenth Street Pentecost Church. Interment will be in the Cresthaven Memorial Park. Where the remains will lie in state has not yet been decided. Day and Carter is directing the funeral.
