    3. Daily Times Mail Bedford, Indiana Monday, June 29, 1942 Hotel Operator Succumbs Here Harry Ragsdale, 65 years old, proprietor of the New Bedford hotel, died at 11:55 a. m. today at the. Dunn Memorial hospital where he was admitted at 1:45 a. m. today in a serious condition following a heart attack suffered in his apartment at the hotel. He had been in failing health the past two years. The remains were removed to the Day-Carter & Roach funeral home for burial preparation and will lie in state there. Funeral services will be held at the Elmwood Chapel but the date and hour will not be fixed until a son in San Diego, Calif., is heard from. Burial will be made in Green Hill cemetery. He was a son of John and Canasea Clark Ragsdale and was born in Heltonville. He was twice married, first in young manhood with Lula Beavers, who preceded him in death a number of years ago. In 1920 he married Mrs. Lula Embree, who survives. Other survivors are a son, Homer Ragsdale, San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Miss Cora Ragsdale, at home; a step-son, Roy Embree, Bedford, a brother, Mack Ragsdale, Hammond, Ind.; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Cramer, Huntington, W. Va., Mrs. Florence Lindsey, Bedford; Mrs. Will Fletcher and Mrs. Virgil Fletcher, Hammond, Ind., and a granddaughter. Mr. Ragsdale operated a transfer business here for forty years before entering the Hotel business several years ago. He belonged to the Free Methodist church and was a member of the Modern Woodmen Lodge.
