Mrs. Elizabeth Ray passed away at 8:10 a. m. today at the Lawrence County Infirmary after a six weeks illness with complications. Following death the body was removed to the Roach Funeral Home for burial preparation and will lie in state there until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Springville Christian Church in charge of the Rev. Ralph Bivins, of Bedford. Burial will be made in the Methodist cemetery in Springville. The deceased was born near Bryantsville on February 6, 1860, to Henry and Amanda Ellis and at the time of her death was 75 years, 2 months and 20 days old. She was first married to William Greer, who died In 1913. Her second marriage was to William Ray. She was a member of the Springville Christian Church. Mrs. Ray is survived by four children by her first marriage, James Greer, of Elnora: Solomon Greer, of Springville; Mrs. Fannie Taylor, of Shoals, and Mrs. Louisa Moffett of near Orleans. Two other ch! ildren, Mrs. Anna England and Wesley Greer, have preceded her in death.

Hammond, 77 years old, well known Springville resident and for the past forty years agent for the Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville Railroad Company there, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning at his home after an Illness since last November With complications. The body Was removed to the Roach mortuary here for burial preparation and will lie in state there until the funeral, arranged for 10 o'clock Saturday morning at the Springville Christian Church, of which he was a member, with Rev. Ralph Bivins, of Bedford, officiating. Buria1 Will follow in the Methodist cemetery there. He was a native of Lawrence county and was born near Springville to Milton and Judith Cassidy Hammond on Apri1 7, 1857, and had he lived until next Sunday, would have celebrated his 78th Birthday anniversary. He was united in marriage at Springville on December 31, 1887 to Miss Jennie Armstrong, who with there three daughters, Mrs. Harland Carmichael, of Springville, Mrs. Grace Knight, of Chi! cago, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Land, of Highland, Calif., survive. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Henry Withrnan. of Bedford, and four grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and belonged to the Brotherhood of Railway Telegraphers. He was highly respected In the community where he had spent his long life and his passing removes therefrom a splendid citizen who will be greatly missed.

Gardner, for a number of years employed as conductor by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad Company, were advised Sunday of his death Saturday evening at 4:45 o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. Bess Bearicks at Ottumwa, Iowa after an illness with complications. He had been in failing health for two years. The body is being returned here for burial and will arrive Tuesday afternoon at 4:13 over the Monon railroad. Mr. Gardner went to Ottumwa last November 1st to visit his sister. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Roach funeral Chapel with burial following in the Springville Methodist Episcopal Cemetery. Mr. Gardner was born on August 17, 1883 near Owensburg to Polk and Eliza George Gardner and at the time of his death was 51 years, 5 months and 2 days old. He was married in Bedford on February 2, 1909 to Mabel Beavers. He attended the Bedford First Baptist Church. The deceased was born on August 10, 1864 near Springville to Hamilton and Isabell Bridwell Gray and at the time of his death was 70 years, 4 months and 10 days old. Kent Rush 610 S Street was advised today of the death early this morning at his home in Bloomfield, of his father, Oliver P. Rush, 70 years old, after a short illness with complications. Tentative funeral arrangements call for services at Bloomfield Monday with burial at Springville but the place and hour has not been decided. Oliver P. Rush was a native of Lawrence county and was born in Perry township to Mr. and Mrs. Noah Rush in 1864. He was united in marriage in young manhood to Miss Laura Hatfield of Greene county. She passed away in 1926. Mr. Rush was engaged in farming in Perry township until 1916, when he moved to Bloomfield and he had since made his home there. Besides the son here he is survived by another son, Wayne of Bloomfield; two sisters, Mrs. Isabel Rainbolt, Lawrence county, and Mrs. Mary Rector, Atlanta, Nebraska; a brother D. B. Rush, Chanute, Kansas, and eight grandchildren. A brother John C. Rush of Perry township died last March. Burial: Springville West (Methodist) Cemetery

Storm in her early womanhood and they lived in the Popcorn, Lawrence county neighborhood, until his death October 23, 1928. since that time Mrs. Storm had made her home with a nephew Michael Freeman, Springville and niece Mrs. John McPike at Judah. She was survived by the niece and two nephews, Michael Freeman of Springville and Lummie Freeman of Indianapolis. She was a devout member of the Popcorn Christian Church and was highly respected in her home community. The remains were taken to the Emerson-Thurman Funeral Home for burial preparation where they will lie in state until the funeral hour. The funeral services will take place at Popcorn Christian Church, Thursday at 2 p.m., followed by burial in the Lowder Cemetery. Rev. Logan Hatfield will be in charge of the services.

BEDFORD DAILY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1933 Joseph Marion Parker Succumbs At Popcorn Death Comes to Prominent Lawrence County Farmer After Illness of a Few Days Joseph Marion Parker, prominent farmer and leading citizen of the Popcorn neighborhood answered the final summons at his home today at 8 a.m. after a four days illness due to a bowel obstruction. The deceased was born Dec. 22, 186*, in this state to James D. and Jane Fitzpatrick Parker and was aged 66 years, 10 months, and 12 days at the time of his death. On Sept. 17, 1889 the deceased was united in marriage to Miss Lula Rainbolt who survives. One daughter, Mrs. Reugar Quackenbush of Springville, one brother, Henry Parker, of Springville; three sisters, Mrs. George Price, of Shelbyville, Ill., Mrs. Lettie Inman, of Mountain Springs, and Mrs. Ida Hudson of Hobbyville, also survive. Mr. Parker was a representative citizen and was imbued with a progressive spirit. The good of the community was always uppermost in his mind and he will be sadly missed by a wide circle. He possessed a fine tenor voice and was a member of the Popcorn Quartet , a favorite musical group of this county his death makes the first break in the ranks of this group which has existed for number of years. Mr. Parker was a member of the Christian Church at Popcorn and services will be held from this church Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Harry Bridwell in charge. RETURNING BODY Funeral Services To Be Held At St. Vincent de Paul Church Tuesday Forenoon Bedford relatives of Frank Heitger, 60 years old, have been advised of his death at 8 a.m. Sunday in a hospital in Flint, Mich., where he has been employed for several years in the carburetor plant of the Marmon Auto Co. The body was returned here today and funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St Vincent de Paul's Church. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery. Mr. Heitger recently had some teeth pulled and shortly afterward became ill, being taken to the hospital at Flint three weeks ago. He had recovered sufficiently for his physician to advice that he might be removed to his home Sunday. Sunday morning a nurse carried his breakfast to him at the hospital and when she returned for the tray of dishes found M. Heitger dead. A heart attack is said to have been responsible for his passing. The body was accompanied here by his daughter, Miss Regina, Mrs. Heitger being unable to accompany the remains. Theodore and Henry Winterhalter, nephews of the deceased accompanied by a representative of the Day & Carter undertaking firm to Indianapolis to meet the funeral party and accompanied it here. The remains were taken to the home of Mrs. Sophia Winterhalter, 2015 H street where they will remain until the funeral hour. Frank Heitger was a native of Bedford and was born to Theodore ....
