She was born Dec. 17, 1887 in Sparksville, to James W. and Roselba Beem Starr. She was married Dec. 21, 1910 in Sparksville, to Walter W. Stegner, who died Sept. 23, 1960. Surviving are one son, Durland Stegner, Gulf Port, Miss., and one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Nicholson, R. 1, Medora seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. One son, one daughter and three brothers are deceased. She was a member of the Medora Christian Church. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Hague Funeral Home in Medora, the Rev. He was born Aug. 8, 1913 in Owen County (Coal City), to Frank and Ethel May Blacketter DeFore. He married Cora H. Hert on Dec. 24, 1940, and she preceded him in death Aug. 14, 1979. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Standards. He was a member of the Masonic Green Lodge 577; Washington, Ind., Scottish Rite Temple, Washington, D.C., the Albert Pike Consistory, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Born in Bedford March 29, 1908, he was the son of Oren and Pearl Holsapple Porter. Surviving are the wife, Johnnie; one son, John Porter of California; one daughter, Lyndale Porter Barclay of Shreveport, La., and four grandchildren. Burial was in Union Cemetery in Robinson Township.

She married Marlin Hert on March 27, 1918, and he died Dec 11, 1959. She was preceded in death by a grandson, three brothers, and three sisters. She was a former member of the Mountain Springs Church of Christ and in later years the Springville Methodist Church. He was born in Vigo County, Dec. 22,1923, Elice and Sarah Mayfield Barnes. He was married to Barbara Underhill on Nov. 29,1961, and she survives. He was a retired factory employee of Mi-Lin Wood of Paoli. Surviving are six children by a previous marriage, three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Joyce) Chrisman and Judy Troxel, both of Otterbein, Ind., and Linda Barnes, Lafayette; three sons, Ronnie Barnes, Air force base In Idaho; Roy Barnes, Huntsville, Texas, and Mike Barnes, West Lafayette; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John (Maxine) Judson, Terre Haute; and one brother, Harrison Barnes, Terre Haute. Sipes, long time Bedford minister and bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, passed away at 9 p.m. Thursday at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Rev. Sipes had been in the ministerial work for over 40 years and had been pastor of the Christ Temple Pentecostal Church of Bedford for 24 years. He was also the chairman of the Northern District Council of Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. The 68-year-old pastor and resident of 518 U street, was born September 26, 1893 in Martin County, the son of William and Mary E. Schooley Sipes. He was united in marriage October 22, 1915 to Ruth Ann White, who survives. Other survivors include one son, Chester Sipes of Bedford; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Pearl) Douthit of Edinburg, Mrs. Charles (Lola) Tucker of Middletown, Mrs. Lee (Vivian) Spicer of Bloomington, and Mrs. Glenn (Louise) Craig of Edinburg; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harley, Ira, Cash and Roy, all of Shelbyville, Indiana; and four sisters, Mrs. Willard Lewis of Bedford, Mrs. Lona Sipes of Indianapolis, Mrs. James Bennett of Bloomington and Mrs. Stanley Sipes. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Christ Temple Pentecostal Church, East Fifteenth street. Burial will be in the Cresthaven Memorial Park under the direction of the Day & carter Mortuary.
