On this 14th day of November, 1892, personally appeared before me, a Notary Public within and for the County and State aforesaid, Henry H. Hamer, aged 52 years, a resident of the City of Denver, County of Arapahoe, State of Colorado, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical person who was enrolled on the (blank) day of July 1863, in Co. H. 117 Indiana Vol Infantry in the War of the Rebellion, and served at least ninety days and was honorably discharged at Indianapolis on the (blank) day of February, 1864. That he has not been employed in the military or naval service otherwise than as state above. That he is now unable to earn a support by manual labor by reason of rheumatism, disease of throat, loss of teeth, dyspepsia, and bronchitis. That said disabilities are not due to his vicious habits, and are to the best of his knowledge and belief, permanent. That he has not applied for any pension before... That he makes this declaration for the purpose of being place on the pesnion roll of the Unived States, under provisions of the Act of June 27, 1890. He hereby appoints, with full power of substituion and revocation James Tanner, of Washington, D.C., his true and lawful attorney to prosecute his claim, and in consideration of services done, and to be done, in the premises, he herby agrees to allow his said attorney, James Tanner, a fee of ten dollars payable only in the even of the allowance of the claim by the Commissioner of Pensions. Record and Pension Office. Sept. 25, 1894. Henry H. Hamer, Co. H, 117th Reg, Indiana Infantry, was enrolled July 16, 1863, and M/O Feby 24, 1864. From En. to M/O he held the rank of Corpl., and during that period the rolls show him present. The medical records show him treated as follows: Henry H. Hamer, Corpl. Co. H, 117. Ent. Dec. 16, 1863 to Jan 2, 1864/ no diagnosis. Nothing additional found. By authority of the Secretary of War, F.C. Ainsworth, Colonel, U.S. Army, Chief of Office, Washington, D.C., Sep 25, 1894. Declaration for Original Invalid Pension. Oct. 2, 1900. State of Colorado, County of Douglas. On this2nd day of October, A.D. one thousand nine hundred, 1900, personally appeared before me, a notary public, within and for the county and State aforesaid, Henry H. Hamer, aged 60 years, a resident of the county of Douglas State of Colorado, who was enrolled at BEDFORD, IND., on the (blank) day of July 1863, under the name of Henry H. Hamer, in Company H of the 117 Regiment of Indiana Infantry commanded by Thomas G. Brady, and was discharged at Indianapolis on the (blank) day of February, 1864; that his personal description at enlistment was as follows: Age, 22 years; height 5 feet 7 inches; complexion, dark; hair, dark; eyes, black. That while a member of the organization aforesaid, in the service and in the line of his duty near Cumberland Gap in the State of Tennessee, on or about the (blank) day of Dec, 1863, he was attacked with Bronchitis and for six weeks was unable to speak above a whisper. That he was treated in hospitals as follows: At Camp Nelson, Kentucky in Dec 1863. That he was not employed in the military or naval service prior to July, 1863. That he has not been employed in the military service since February, 1864. That prior to his entry into the service above name he was a man of good, sound physical health, being when enrolled a farmer. That he is now partially incapacitated for procuring his subsistence by manual labor by reason of his disability described above, incurred in the service of the United States and he therefore makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the invalid pension roll of the United States. That he hereby appoints Travis & Brown, Crawfordsville, Indiana, his true and lawful attorney to prosecute his claim. That he has not recieved or applied for a pension. Hamer, aged 65 years, a resident of Victor, County of Fremont, State of Idaho, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Henry H. Hamer, who was enrolled on the 12th day of July 1863, as a Corpl in Co. H, 117 Regiment of Indiana Infantry Vol. in the War of the Rebellion, and served at least ninety days and was honorably discharged at Indianapolis, on the 20th day of Feb, 1864, and that he has never served in the Army or Navy otherwise than above stated, nor prior to July 12th 1863, nor subsequent to Feb 20th 1864. That he is wholly unable to earn a support by reason of bronchitis and rupture. Also rheumatism, principally in right shoulder and elbow of right arm. Also indigestion, liver trouble, catarrh, and on account of his age. He was born Nov 19, 1839 near Mitchel, Indiana, Lawrence County. This application is made under Act of June 27, 1890, Supplemental to the one on file and under the recent ruling relative to age. That he never served in the army or navy of the United States prior to July 1863, nor subsequent to Feb, 1864. That he believes himself to be entitle to increase of his pension on account of the following named disablities, to-wit: rupture, rheumatism, indigestion, catarrh, and disease of liver and age; also because of increased and increasing disability, resulting wherefrom; also because of general debility and nervous affliction.
