HUNSUCKER, who works with the section gang at Medora, met a tramp the other morning who asked him if he thought any one would care if he got over in the field and got a muskmelon to eat. His reply was that he thought not. The tramp got over into the pumpkin patch, taking two, and after eating one he started on the other. Tom was anxious to learn of his politics and made inquiry of the tramp. His reply was that he was for Bryan. .Misses Carrie and Mattie ELLISON, of Fairview, visited Mrs. Eliza BEAZLEY, of this place Sunday. . The basket meeting at the M. E. church was not very well attended Sunday. . Mr. GRAY, an old soldier and a respected citizen of Medora, died last Friday and was buried Sunday morning in the Vallonia cemetery. . The Democratic convention to nominate township officers was held at Medora last Saturday. The nominee for Trustee was Albert LUEDTKE and for Assessor Tilford OWEN. . N. C. PLUMMER took a fine load of peaches to Bedford last Tuesday where he found a ready market for them. . The Republicans will carry Indiana by 30,000. Paste that in your hat. . The Republican township convention will be held at Medora Sept. 15th, for the purpose of nominating township officers. Their names will appear later in this column.
