Hi All. I have received five letters with and attachments since I wrote the list today. I do not open any attachments so I don't know what it is about but would wonder if it doesn't have something to do with a virus. Thanks to everyone who has written to tell me about the cost of records. Does anyone have a cemetery listing for Bedford? Believe my 4th. gr. grandparents are buried there but would like to find proof. If you don't have a listing who would you suggest I write to? Roberta Summers.
I just received a file attachment that contains a virus from yet ANOTHER person on the INLAWREN-L. It contained my previous warning about the virus in the text, with the telltale "Take a look to the attachment" following. The attachment in this case was "You_Are_FAT!.txt.pif With all the warnings about opening attachments going around, WHY ARE PEOPLE STILL OPENING ATTACHMENTS WHEN THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE???? What remains a mystery to me is how they are getting sent to the list. These are not people that I know personally and don't see any reason that my address would be in their address books which is the 'traditional' way these viruses travel. My understanding was that they could not travel through the Roots-L lists, but now I wonder. Any ideas anyone? Roberta, I have the listings that were put on disk back in the early '90s by John Nickless. Who would you like me to look for?
