According to the Lawrence Co.,IN 1820 census as transcribed by Joe Morehead, the following lived "next door" to each other...and found on pg 098 of the census HODGE, John Household consisting of: 2 males to age 10 1 male 10-14 1 male 26-45 3 females to age 10 1 female 10-14 1 female 26-45 SMITH, William Household consisting of: 4 males to age 10 1 males 10-14 1 male 16-18 3 males 16 - 26 1 male 45+ 1 female 10-16 1 female 26-45 He noted the following about the male count: "The enumerator added an additional column in the Male section: Free White Males of Sixteen and Under Eighteen since this age group is also covered under the column: Free White Males of Sixteen and under 26 precluding heads of Families I am unsure if some male children were counted twice."
