Hi Mary Lou, John Charles Dougherty appears in Orange County, Indiana in the 1820 and 1830 census. He was only in Lawrence county, Indiana for the period 1833 to 1837. In the 1840 census he is located in Daviess county, Indiana. And in the 1850 census he is located in Sangamon County, Illinois. I have more details on him and his family.
