    1. [INLAWREN] Thomas Jeffers Marriage
    2. Norma A. Zanetti
    3. Looking for a marriage record for Thomas Jeffers/Jeffors/Jeffries to Lurena/Lorena/Lorraine ??? Marriage would have taken place between 1890 and 1895. Thomas Jeffers married Lorena [Axsom] Reeves in Monroe County in 1906. Thomas was in Lawrence County in 1900, wife, Lurinna b. Mar 1865, married 9 years, chn: Lillie b. Mar 1896, Mellie b. Feb 1897, Eithel b. Nov 1898. Thomas was in Monroe County in 1910, wife, Lorenia, age 50, dau., Lillie, age 15, son Ethel, age 11. Census indicated Thomas and Lorena had been married 15 years. Although all indications are that Thomas Jeffers married only once (marriage record and 1910 census), I am trying to rule out the possibility that he married a woman with a similar first name to that of Lorena Axsom Reeves. Lorena and first husband, James Henry Reeves, divorced about 1893. To further confuse the issue, Lillie M. Jeffers married James Harris in Monroe County 1912. The online index lists her parents as Thomas Jeffers and Lorraine Johnson. I think it's possible that whoever was providing the info for the marriage application thought Lorena was a Johnson because her mother, Martha Ann Hall, married a Johnson about 1872. Thank you, Norma Axsom Zanetti Thank you, Norma Zanetti
