DOBBINS left for Trinity Springs Tuesday, for a week's vacation. Frank GAINEY returned Tuesday from Dresden, where he had visited relatives. Milt NORGAN is able to drive the HATFIELD cab again, after a several days' illness. Seymour FINE, of Owensburg, is visiting his brother A. J. FINE, on East 17th street. Miss Nellie BYERS is spending the week with friends at her old home near Popcorn. Mrs. J. C. BEEVERS, who has been seriously ill for a day or two, is reported better. Mrs. M. E. RAMSEY, of Heltonville, was visiting relatives in this city last week. Miss Jennie MITCHELL left Wednesday for New York City, to visit Mrs. J. H. TRACEY. The Chicago directory names 5,750 JOHNSONS, a clear majority of 1,350 over the SMITHS. Dr. George MALOTT, who had been the guest of relatives here for several days, has returned to his home at Trinity Springs. Charlie SPAULDING, who broke his leg in a saw mill four weeks ago, is able to be out. Joe IKERD, of Indian Springs, has moved into his new house, corner 6th and J streets. James OWENS went to Terre Haute Saturday, to see his daughter, who is quite ill. The County Commissioners received the Bedford and Williams gravel road Tuesday. S. A. SNYDER and wife left Tuesday for Trinity Springs, to spend a few days' vacation. Benj. HALL, of Ellettsville, was in the city Wednesday on his way to Williams, on business. Miss Anna NICELY, of Westport, is visiting the family of S. T. RUNNELS, on North N street. Will GARRISON has purchased Noble DAVIS' interest in the Model Café. Will is a hustler. Milt MYERS, wife and baby left Tuesday a.m. for Newberry, to visit relatives for a few days. Charles STANSBURY, of Linton, arrived in this city Tuesday, to visit relatives for some time. Miss Minnie MARTIN was visiting her parents in the Flatwoods neighborhood, near Heltonville. Mrs. John CALEY, of East 16th street, who has been seriously ill the past few days, is improving. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. ROWE, of Danville, Va., were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. ROWE, in this city. Prof. F. E. CALLAHAN and wife were in town Monday, on their way to Medora from Bloomington. Mrs. Winepark FIELDS, of Cale, arrived in the city Tuesday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Peter B. MAY. Miss Carrie HOWARD, who had been visiting in this city, returned Tuesday, to her home in Brazil. Thomas BAYNE, the saw mill man of Greencastle, has been in the city for several days, on business. Mrs. Grant LUZADDER, of Shoals, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. B. B. MARLEY, South H street. J. S. IKERD who had been in Bedford for some time returned to his home in Indian Springs Monday. Rev. H. A. SEVERINGHAUS and his two little nieces went to Seymour, last Tuesday, to visit friends. The Farmers Insurance Association will have a meeting at the Old Settler's Meeting at Gigal Aug. 18th. Miss Carrie DOANE, who had been visiting Bedford relatives, left Monday for her home in Owensburg. Mrs. Marshall STEELE and daughter, Pearl, left Monday night for Elnora, to attend the big reunion. Angus McLEAN has returned to Buffalo, New York, after spending several days here looking after business. There are 500,000 tons (more or less) of growing weeds in the city of Bedford that should be cut at once. Mrs. I. E. GRIGSBY and children are spending the week with relatives at French Lick and West Baden. John L. MORGAN, the biggest stock dealer in Southern Indiana, was in the city from Marco over Sunday. J. A. CORRELL, of Odon, was in the city Monday, purchasing a car load of stone for the Odon Marble Works. H. CONKLIN has been instructed by the Census Bureau to get additional statistics concerning manufacturies at Bedford and Bloomington, and left for the latter place Tuesday forenoon.
