    3. BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, OCT. 12, 1900 COL. DURBIN IN TOWN. Our Next Governor Meets the Faithful At Republican Headquarters. Col. Winfield T. Durbin, Republican candidate for Governor; William H. Hart, Republican candidate for Auditor of State; Hon. A. M. Higgins, of Terre Haute; U. S. Distinct Attorney Al Wishard, of Indianapolis; and other prominent Republicans, arrived in town over the B. & O. at 12:05 Friday afternoon, and at 1 o'clock met the members of the Republican County Central Committee, and other active members of the party at the Club Room. After a general handshaking and love-feast, songs were sung by a quartette composed of John M. GAINEY, J. R. POPE, A. K. SEARS and George W. HOLMES, followed by a number of speeches on the "heart-to-heart" order. The meeting had the effect of stirring the enthusiasm of the party workers, and was a great success.
