Newton SEARS, the popular candy man of Bedford, took dinner with Coxton friends Sunday. . Oscar FISHER and wife were in town Sunday. Mr. FISHER went South on the S. I., enroute to Paoli. Caney KERNS and Mark BANKS called at Coxton Monday on business. They report the sawmill business as a little dull, with better prospects in the future. .. Marion NICKLESS has contracted to build a large barn for Hugh JACKSON. The barn when completed will be one of the finest in Lawrence county, having 12,000 feet of yellow poplar for outside finishing. Steel roofing from the Globe Iron Roofing Co., of Cincinnati, will decorate the roof. .. Mrs. G. C. SMITH went to Springfield, Ill., to visit until the first of the year. . G. C. SMITH, our former Postmaster, has sold his store and stock of goods to Wm. H. TATOM and will give possession as soon as the Government transfers the office. He will probably go back to Cleveland, O. . D. W. BEASLEY is not getting along very well with his wounded hand. . D. F. BYERS has returned to his river quarters, feeling jolly over the recent election. . Wm. HAYS has returned to his former home here, and has purchased team and wagon and will prepare to do some extensive farming next season.
