BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, NOV. 16, 1900 Notice To County Council. Section 6 of the Act of the General Assembly creating the County Council provides that, "Each Councilman elected or appointed shall, within ten days thereafter, and before entering upon the duties of his office, take and subscribe before some officer authorized to administer oaths, an oath to the effect that he will support the Constitution of the United States and of the State of Indiana, and faithfully and honestly perform his duties as such councilman, which oath shall be endorsed on his certificate of election or appointment, and be filed and preserved in the office of the County Auditor." Section 7, provides, "There shall be a regular meeting of every Council at ten o'clock a.m., on the Second Saturday after its election, for the purpose of organization, and such other business as may come before it."
