BEDFORD WEEKLY MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, NOV. 16, 1900 The Canvassing Board. The work of canvassing the vote of Lawrence county began in the Court room Thursday forenoon about 10:30 o'clock, and was concluded that night about 8 o'clock. The Canvassing Board consisted of the Precinct Inspectors of the county, who were as follows: R. B. SCOTT, John R. COSNER, J. T. McFARLIN, Simon A. SNYDER, James E. TEAGUE, James McCLELLAND, James A. SALLEE, William J. MOORE, W. F. WOOD, Geo. W. ALLEN, Henry M. BURNHAM, T. J. DANIEL, Noyes E. STROUT, Alvarion DARNELL, Henry C. HOLMES, William S. SHORT, Harrison BLACKWELL, R. H. PROSSER, F. L. DALE, W. T. EMBREE, T. B. COLE, L. M. CHESS, F. G. DAVIS, Frank CANFIELD, L. MONTGOMERY, W. H. BRIM, E. F. MILLER. They organized with Henry C. HOLMES as President. Isaac H. CRIM, John M. GAINEY and Fred T. DUNIHUE were Clerks of the Board, and performed the work of transferring the figures to the canvassing sheet as they were called off by the Inspectors. Attorneys for the candidates interested were present to see that the proceedings were according to law. Though the vote was the largest ever cast in the county, and the number of candidates and number of different ballots the largest, the work was accomplished in less time than usual.
