Hickson SMITH and Joseph GILES Wednesday filed suit in the Lawrence Circuit Court against the Southern Indiana for $20,000, as attorneys for Fireman John L. BRIGHT. It will be remembered that Fireman BRIGHT was stuck by the overhanging platform roof of the depot at Surprise, in Jackson county, on the 5th day of September, 1899, and suffered a serous injury to his skull. The complaint alleges that the depot roof as built was dangerous to the trainmen while in the performance of their duties. He was looking out of the cab window when struck and injured.
