My brick walls are: Bettie ROBERTS 1863-1939 and her mother Gertrude Walling (no dates) I have a copy of death certificate for Bettie and there is conflicting information. If you have either of these names in your file, please contact me. I'll gladly share information. Thanks, Brenda Edwards Nashville, Tn.
I have a large tree which is far from being complete ( all the Wrays in Jackson and Lawrence Counties all of whom seem to be related to me.) so I am not ready to "post" my tree as yet; let alone where it will be free to all. So for the moment I am trolling to see what my sharing can do towards pushing my project by sharing. Stan Wray Acton, MA

While this sounds like a great idea on the surface, let me (as Lawrence County ListMistress) jump in here before this gets out of hand... Everytime someone starts a Roll Call, I receive almost as many notes complaining about it as I do Roll Call responses. AND...we lose members...people sign off the list with more frequency after a Roll Call starts. For people with slow connections, email limitations, etc., Roll Calls are a nightmare....and they complain about them and leave lists because of them. That is the reason some lists ban Roll Calls all together. I don't have a problem with them as long as they don't happen excessively! *grin* BUT...before people start sending GEDCOMS, extremely long messages with their entire trees, and items of that nature...I have to step in. This list is to help people with specific questions...not to post all my entire family history and all my research and hope that a "hit" takes place. There are several places on the Web where you can post GEDCOMs. Please feel free to do this, and use this list to direct your Lawrence County Cousins to that site. That way...your information gets out...and and we don't flood mailboxes of our members with info they may not need or want. If anyone wants to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me directly...and off list. Thanks so much for helping me keep this list as accessible as possible for as many people as possible. THANK YOU!! Rebecca Lawrence County List Mistress -----Original Message----- From: Dixie A. Dear listers, I've seen several mentions in the roll call of an ALLEN family. I know this is a very common surname, but just in case we share some family members, I'll mention a few of my own Allens... Thomas Jefferson ALLEN (son of Thomas Jefferson ALLEN and Eliza BROWN) b 11/25/1822 in Floyd county, IN d 1870 in ? m 1844 in Floyd county Martha GIBSON (daughter of John <?> GIBSON and Sarah Ann PEARSON) b 3/11/1822 in ? d 1896 in ? They had 9 kids that we know of -- Anna Belle, John Clarence, William Lawrence, Lewis Marion, Hester, Caroline Victoria, Thomas Akers, Jennie Lind and Lydia Gould ALLEN. We don't know their whereabouts until 1860 when Jennie was born in Bloomington. She married William Henry SEWARD of Bloomington. If any of these people sound familiar to anybody, please contact me "off list". Chuck Carey
