This is little help, but here's another Reed in Lawrence Co. 1 John Reed . +Susannah Miller b: April 09, 1844 in Lawrence Co IN d: December 06, 1912 in Lawrence Co In ...... 2 Cora Reed ...... 2 male Reed ...... 2 male Reed ...... 2 male Reed ...... 2 male Reed John Reed was Susannah's first husband, deceased by 1882, when Susannah married (2) Cicero Joseph Worthington. They lived around in and around Mitchell. I thought I had Susannah's obit in my files, but apparently not. I'm sure I got suggestions about Susannah's children from an obit. You would expect those children to be born in the 1860's. Sharon Mills At 12:18 PM 5/13/02, [email protected] wrote: >I am up against a brick wall here. Mary Lou, If someone on the list has a complete copy of the Lawrence Co. IN history 1818-1990, there might be some info on your Robert in the entry for Isaiah & Sarah Dougherty. I have only the first part of that page - #208 - which doesn't mention their children. It continues on pg 209 which I don't have. I hope the answers to your questions are posted to the "whole" list so maybe all of us can get this family straightened out.......they are all part of the same family, that's for sure, but it's our misfortune they all named their kids after their Grandpa, brother, sister, etc.!!!!!! <smile> I have some old Gedcoms that DOUGHERTY people have sent me....I'll have to check them out and see what I come up with. Have errands to run now! Hello, There is an unverified report that Mary (1790-1851), wife of Jonathon Tatum(1780-1853), was a Moore b NC. Jonathon was b VA. Their marriage in NC has not been found, but the families to which Mary _may_ be connected include Dent, Moore, and Risdon. There is a lot of searching to do before any of that is proven....if it is. There has been some suspicion mentioned on the Tatum list at Rootsweb that there are Quaker connections. This has some credibility, in that Seth Tatum, son of the above couple, married a Quaker girl. And if Mary is the Polly Moore whose mother was Mary Dent, the Dents and relatives appear to have been Quakers from MD. If my memory is correct, there were Tatum Quakers from MD. Orange Co IN is a likely place to find Quaker families from NC, some of whom spilled over into Lawrence Co and surrounding areas to get land. You might query the Tatum list. Your family was certainly on the move, wasn't it? I am still looking for information (Parents, Siblings, etc.) on my grandfather Gilbert Henderson. The info I have is that he was born June 19, 1890 and died Sept. 30, 1927. I always thought he was born in Lawrence County, In but they have no birth record for him. I know he is buried in Beech Grove Cemetery in Bedford, In. I believe he had a twin brother that died young and that he had another brother named Perry. He was married to Walterette Mitchell before 1915 but I don't know where. I would appreciate ANY info and I have really hit a brick wall. Thanks for any help! Linda Lewis My web page: http://members.tripod.com/~gidget00/index.html
