The Hammond Times Indiana Oct. 11, 1937 Sebastian EINSELE, One Of City's First 2 Police, Dead One of Hammonds first two police officers, Sebastian EINSELE died at his home at 408 West State Street in Calumet City Saturday night. He was 77 years old. Confined to his bed for the last four months, EINSELE succumbed to a heart attack. He had been in failing health for the past four years. Survivors: Wife: Catherine Sons: Joseph of Hammond Valentine of Calumet City Daughters: Mrs. Jasper ARBISI Mrs. George CARROW of Calumet City Mrs. Ernest HUENE of Rockford, Ill. Mrs. Maria VIDA of Gary Mrs. Ervin GRAMBO of Hammond Sisters: Mrs. Susan TALMAN Mrs. Max KLINE of Hammond Brothers: Jacob, Nick and Pete, all of Hammond 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. EINSELE at one time servied as half the police force, the other half having been Al WALKER. He had come to Hammond at the age of 26 from Schererville, his birthplace. For many years he was connected with the Hammond Packing company. Later he became a teamster. For the past 29 years he has lived in Calumet City. Services tomorrow at St. Victor's church with Rev. E. E. Broderick officiating. Internment in the Elmwood cemetery. The body is at the residence of Mrs. ARBISI, 504 Freeland Avenue, Calumet City.
